Part-Time Mental Health Social Worker
The Aging in New York Fund (ANYF) is the not-for-profit, philanthropic arm of the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA), dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older New Yorkers and their families. By forging creative public/private partnerships, the Fund addresses the pressing unmet needs of seniors, their caregivers and the network of aging service providers.
ANYF seeks a part-time Social Worker (27 hours a week ) to implement a year-long, grant-funded project to integrate mental health screening (depression and anxiety) and treatment for elder abuse victims served by DFTA’s Elderly Crime Victims Unit. National studies have illustrated a link between elder abuse and mental health problems. There is some evidence that shows that depression may make older adults less likely to ask for help, and therefore more vulnerable to elder abuse. Click here for the job description.
