Neighborhood SHOPP VIP Program serves older (age 60+) Bronx residents who are victims of crime and/or elder mistreatment. VIP social workers provide specialized services for older victims of domestic violence and crime through information and referral, case assistance, individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, claims compensation assistance and educational presentations. Coordination and collaboration with other agencies such as Adult Protective Services, Bronx District Attorney’s Office the NYC Department for the Aging ensure that victims are provided with timely and effective intervention.
