David Burnes has been selected by the Association of Gerontology Education in Social Work (AGESW) to receive the Doctoral Student Leadership Award. Congratulations, David!
A Ph.D. Candidate at Columbia University School of Social Work, David was selected for this award for his impressive elder justice work in the domains of research, teaching and engagement in community-based activities. NYCEAC is particularly grateful to David for applying his tremendous talents to the evaluation of the two HHS-funded Enhanced Multidisciplinary Teams in NYS and for his active participation on NYCEAC’s Elder Abuse Case Coordination and Review Team.
David will receive the award in November of 2013 at the AGESW Reception held during the Gerontological Society of America’s Annual Scientific Meeting in New Orleans. This award is given to a doctoral student who has demonstrated outstanding service, education and research in social work and aging.
